Where Was I Monday and Tuesday?

A few people have asked me why no posts on Monday or Tuesday. Well first of all, let me say that it was nice to be missed! It’s reassuring to know that there are some people out there who come to this blog every day to see what I have written about. To be honest, writing something each and every day while running a successful real estate business can be a challenge sometimes. And since I am learning based I also have the responsibility of continuing to educate myself in addition to selling homes and writing my blog.
On Monday and Tuesday I had the privilege of participating in a learning experience called Train the Trainer. Keller Williams is an absolutely incredible real estate firm for an agent to be associated with. Most industry participants and observers alike will agree that we are leaders in education for our agents. We have a powerful curriculum that can provide every aspect of training and education that any agent will ever need all the way from brand new agents to mega agents with large teams.
As part of my commitment to serve on the Agent Leadership Council for my market center, I agreed to teach classes to other agents. This has been a great opportunity for me to give back to my industry. It has also helped me to become better in all the subjects that I have taught. You will never know any material better than when you must prepare and teach it to others.
The Train the Trainer class I took on Monday and Tuesday was an intensive course on how to prepare and present world class training courses in a classroom environment. I come from a sales and marketing background prior to my real estate career, so I have had quite a bit of training with regards to presentations, etc. But I have never had any formal education in the area of teaching.
The course was awesome! Our instructors, Holly Perry and John Prescott, are the best of the best and it was a real privilege to learn from them. I’ll be teaching more classes in the future and I now have the opportunity to become a Keller Williams Certified Trainer for my market center. I’m really excited about becoming more involved in training other agents. I’m also excited about the potential to enhance what I do here at RaleighRealEstateTalk.com and with all of my clients.
